We are ‘challenging’ ourselves to discover the best of the Bright Cafe scene…
It’s a tough challenge but someone has to do it.
One of our all time favourite cafes in Bright is the Food Wine Friends Cafe at 6 Ireland Street. Our returning guests obviously already know this as they are welcomed back to BlueMill Bright with a gift voucher for the cafe, (we do like to share our favourite things and places).
Food Wine Friends is not just a cafe but also a gourmet food store. They serve delicious, seasonal breakfast & lunch, sourcing ingredients locally & offer a lovely selection of handmade cakes & other sweet treats.
In the foodstore they sell Milawa sourdough breads, farmhouse cheese from Lochelian of Wunghnu, handmade preserves & a range of select local wines.

Murray to Mountains Rail Trail
The famous Murray to Mountains Rail Trail leads all the way through the Ovens Valley to Bright, making this a mecca for cyclists who are welcomed with open arms at a range of cycle-friendly businesses including cafes, places to stay and bike hire. On two legs is also a great way to explore this lovely place. Bright offers 17 excellent short and longer walking trails around the town.
New Splash Park for Bright
Bright’s new natural themed splash park has opened up in Centenary Park, alongside Morses Creek, and promises to be a draw card for families to Bright and surrounds over the warmer months. With design centered on the region’s mining heritage and natural environment, there are four splash pads, each designed to suit different age groups from toddlers through to teenagers.
